Moscow 2009
Twenty members of Team Dynamo recently travelled to the World Famous Gymnastics Club Dynamo Moscow. For 11 days the delegation of 9 Male gymnasts, 7 Female gymnasts and 3 Coaches experienced the way of life of a top Russian gymnast. Training was tough and physically demanding with the day starting with a physical conditioning session followed by two more 3 hour sessions.
Training amongst European and World Champions our gymnasts under the guidance of top Russian coaches. Who themselves were previous European & World medallists, improved immensely on their physical conditioning and the perfection of their basic skills. Many new skills were also achieved daily in training.
Accompanying Dynamo on this trip was a team of 7 gymnasts from Basingstoke with their 2 coaches. The whole delegation enjoyed excursions to the renowned Moscow State Circus where the gymnasts saw high level acrobatics, many of these artists originally gymnasts from the Dynamo club.
Over the Easter weekend the group got the chance to unwind from training and experience the centre of Moscow in all its glory, Visiting Red Square, St.Basils Cathedral, the Kremlin and also the magnificent Cathedral of Christ the Saviour.
With the fascination of learning about the history of this great city the gymnasts also had the chance to purchase Russian souvenirs from the various stalls dotted in and around Red Square.

More shopping was to be done when the group next visited the Lomonosov Moscow State University. Towards the end of the trip the gymnasts enjoyed dressing up for a traditional "Moscow's Got Talent" Competition. The group was split into 2 boys groups and 2 girls groups. A very entertaining evening for all as the groups performed everything from dances to comedy shows to raps!! 2 Birthdays were also celebrated in Moscow. A very Happy Birthday to Cameron and Toby from Basingstoke! After 11 very tough but enjoyable days training and sightseeing around Moscow. It was time for all the gymnasts to give their gifts to the Russian gymnasts and say their good byes!
The University is also a fantastic view point to see the whole of this amazing city over looking the famous Luzhniki Stadium and the Great Moscow River.
